+++
Edition of 50
Paper Size: 22x30in Image Size: 19x27in
“+++” is an interpretation and exploration in weaving. Chacon uses textile pattern, color, positive and negative space to create a composition which moves in and out of these elements. The viewer is left with three interpretations of the “+”: one that is black, one that is created by negative space, and one that is an inverted representation. Chacon employs the figure as an organic shape that allows the weaving of the geometric pattern to shift and change throughout the composition. She interprets the symbol “+++” as three life elements we use to live: blood, tissue bone : water, air, earth : birth, existence, death.
The original artwork has uneven edges, part of the integrity of the work
